In October Ukraine expects to sign an agreement on supplies of natural gas from Romania, minister of energy and coal industry Eduard Stavytsky told a briefing.
He reiterated that now gas from Europe to Ukraine comes via two routes: from Poland and from Hungary. "From August 15 of this year Hungary has increased the volume of gas supplies at least twice, and technical capacities allow increasing it by three times. I count on our partners in Hungary to get the license for increased supplies through this route, and starting from September we will be receiving about 15 million cu m of gas daily," the minister said. According to Stavytsky, Ukraine plans using the reverse scheme to supply up to 2.5 billion cu m of gas from Europe.
