"The Prosecutor General's Office cancelled the indictment in the case of Mykola Melnychenko on charges of the divulging of state secrets and abuse of office and resumed criminal proceedings," reads the statement. The Prosecutor General's Office said that the ground for making such a procedural decision was the fact that during the examination of the materials of the pre-trial investigation Melnychenko "provided new evidence that should be checked by an investigator." In order to continue the criminal proceedings the materials of the case, which consists of 17 volumes, were transferred to the central investigation department of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU).
