Corruption main obstacle to Ukraine's development – poll

The respondents said the other main obstacles to the state's development are the ongoing conflict in the east of the country (70%) and the lack of will amongst the political leadership to change the system of governance (69%). According to the survey, 22% of young Ukrainians believe that the inactivity of the general public is the main barrier to the country's development (22%), and are less likely to say that corruption is the main problem (75%). Also, 23% of those polled said that the slow reform process is one of the obstacles blocking Ukraine's development, with 60% of respondents saying that there is no reform process in Ukraine whatsoever. Amongst those polled in the eastern regions of Ukraine, 32% said that the reform process had not started in the country, while in western regions only 17% believed the same Inhabitants of Kyiv were most likely to believe that the reforms process has begun, with only 5% believing that the process had not started. The eighth wave of the survey was carried out from August 12, 2015 to August 19, 2015. A total of 1,000 citizens from all over Ukraine aged between 18 to 55 years old were polled online.
