Losses of banking system of Ukraine increasing

Banks of Ukraine since the beginning of the year have sufferred more than 5 billion losses. Solvent banks on the results of the six months had UAH 1.778 billion damage, insolvent - UAH 3.331 billion.

As reported on the website of the National Bank of Ukraine, including solvent banks for the results of the half-year received 1.778 billion USD damage, insolvency - 3.331 billion USD damage.

Among the solvent banks, 18 out of 88 completed the half-year with losses, including the largest losses received by Prominvestbank (UAH 4.720 billion), by PrivatBank (UAH2.908 billion) and VTB Bank (1.160 billion). The most profitable banks were Raiffeisen Bank Aval (UAH 2.738 billion), Ukreximbank (UAH 736 million) and Citibank (UAH 598 million). As it was reported, in 2016, the banking system of Ukraine restored the historical maximum for losses, having received a negative result at the level of UAH 159 billion. In view of insolvent banks, the annual loss of the banking system amounted to UAH 160.143 billion.
