This was disclosed by deputy chief of the SBU Main Investigative Department Vitaliy Mayakov said at a press briefing in Kyiv. According to him, Colonel Bezyazykov was earlier in captivity. Bezyazykov was freed from captivity in Donbas on July 5, 2016. He had been taken captive in August 2014. He repeatedly traveled to Rostov-on-Don to be instructed by cadre Russian special services.

The traitor received military uniform of Russian sample, service weapon, certificate of employment, salary and a car with a driver. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), having detained Ukrainian Armed Forces Col. Ivan Bezyazykov on suspicion of cooperating with Russian special services, brought the relevant charges against him and will choose a restraining measure for him.
