Ukraine’s population shrinks by 100,000 for six months

"The number of deaths significantly exceeds the number of births in Ukraine: 100 deaths against 64 births," the report says. In January-June this year, as reported by the State Statistics Service, 190,750 babies were born, whereas 198,290 babies were born within the same period last year. It is also noted that the natural decline in population by 109,053 people was registered in January-June 2016, whereas the population decreased by 114, 922 people in January-June 2015.
