OSCE not planning to arm its monitoring mission in Ukraine

According to the OSCE head, the monitors deal with militants that are armed with modern weapons, and so could hardly protect themselves even if they had weapons. Zannier stressed that his organization’s people are equipped with technical means, in particular, they have the opportunity to receive satellite images, and they use drones. In addition, Zannier noted that "It is difficult for the international community – and this is not only the OSCE – to stop a conflict of this magnitude”.
