Nazarbayev vows to oppose Russian embargo discrimination of Ukrainian-Kazakh trade

Poroshenko said that such Russia’s acts violate the Vienna Convention on Law of Treaties, as well as the rules and regulations of the World Trade Organization. In connection with this the Heads of State discussed the possibilities of rerouting the Ukrainian transit of goods in order to prevent the negative effects of Russia’s actions on trade turnover between Ukraine and Kazakhstan. The two sides have also discussed the implementation of the agreements reached after the visit of Ukraine’s President to Astana last October and the prospects for deepening cooperation in strategically important areas for both countries. Moreover, Poroshenko and Nazarbayev have discussed the situation in Donbas, including the Ukrainian initiative to send international peacekeepers to the occupied territories.
