Ukraine to play in France in Euro 2016 football championship

Having defeated Slovenia three days before in Lviv 2:0, the Ukrainians achieved a draw in the second-leg play-off match in Maribor 1:1 on Tuesday, thus qualifying for Euro 2016, Ukrinform reports. The authors of the goals at Maribor Stadium were Bostjan Cesar who scored a header after 11 minutes and Andriy Yarmolenko who sealed the game on the 90+7th minute. Unlike the Euro 2012 when both Ukraine and Poland qualified for the finals on the rights of the hosts of the European tournament, this time the team led by the representative of  another Dynamo Kyiv legend in the 1970s Mykhailo Fomenko had fought in 12 qualifying matches to deserve the coveted ticket to Euro 2016.
