Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said cash assets listed in e-declarations are not "zero declarations." During an international forum on Thursday in Lviv the Ukrainian president said he is counting on the effectiveness of anti-corruption measures, such as the e-declaration system.
Ambassadors of G7 countries have noted the high compliance rate among Ukrainian high-level officials with the electronic declaration procedure and expressed hope that e-declarations would become a reliable source of data for law enforcement agencies.
The US Department of State said in a statement for Ukrinform news agency that the implementation of the e-declaration system in Ukraine is successful and notes that all officials who leverage their positions for financial gain should be brought to responsibility.
The ultimate success of the electronic declaration system of assets of Ukrainian officials will be judged not by its formal launch, but by its efficient and smooth functioning, the European Union Delegation in Ukraine said.
Ukraine officially launched an online system that monitors the incomes and assets of government officials. Leonid Yevdochenko, head of the Special Communications and Information Protection Service, announced on August 31 that the body issued a certificate of compliance for the electronic-declaration system, saying it fully complies with security requirements.
