EBRD President: Construction of Chornobyl NPP’s confinement financed by 40 countries

The fund for construction of the New Safe Confinement of the Chornobyl nuclear power plant (NPP) has been functioning since 1997. Forty countries have made contributions to the construction over almost two decades, President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti said at the ceremony of completing the coverage of the destroyed fourth power unit of the Chornobyl NPP.
