Russia not to be able to oppose UN's common position - Sergeyev

"The civilized world has to deal with the position of the medieval state which ignores everyone and everything. If it violates the UN Charter, it violates the rules of the international game. But it will be difficult for it to oppose the common position," the diplomat said, when asked about the response of the world community to Russia's trials of Nadiya Savchenko, Oleksandr Kolchenko and Oleg Sentsov. Sergeyev noted that the Ukrainian delegation to the UN constantly drew attention to the problem of illegal detention of the Ukrainians in the Russian Federation. "I am absolutely sure that the position of the international community will take effect. All illegally detained persons should be released, and those, who hold them, must be punished," Sergeyev said.
