Parliament to hold extraordinary meeting today

People's deputies will gather today to hold an extraordinary session of the Verkhovna Rada.

They are to consider the issue of prior approval of the bill on amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine regarding decentralization.

Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groisman believes that MPs will support the relevant amendments to the Constitution.

He stated this at a meeting with representatives of local communities in Kyiv, answering the question of whether it will be enough votes to support the bill in the Parliament.

Volodymyr Groisman said that today, when voting for the bill in the first reading , it will be necessary to have at least 226 votes of deputies, and for the adoption of the document in the second reading at the next session at the beginning on September 1 - more than 300 votes will be needed
