Security Service arrests over 600 members, collaborators of separatists in Donbas this year – Poroshenko

"The SBU has neutralized over 20 sabotage-reconnaissance groups. The operation of 18 agent networks of Russian special services was stopped, almost 20 terrorist attacks were prevented at the preparation stage. Only this year, over 600 members and active collaborators of illegal armed formations have been detained and handed over for interrogation . [Those detained] were sent to our territory or were recruited among locals," Poroshenko told reporters in Kyiv on Thursday during a ceremony to mark the presentation of flats to SBU employees. According to him, in the first half of 2015, over 500 small arms, over 1 million units of ammo and over 250 kilos of explosives were confiscated. "All those [items] were to have been used against the peaceful life of citizens in various cities of Ukraine," Poroshenko said.
