EU ready to introduce new sanctions against Russia

The draft statement for the summit of EU leaders, which is to be held in Brussels on October 20-21, is the point of introduction of new sanctions against Russia because of the latter's actions in Syria. The text of the document became available to the agency "Bloomberg".

"The European Union is considering all options, in particular, the restrictive measures against individuals and organizations in Russia if the bombing in Syria does not stop," the statement reads.
Earlier to this within the Normandy Four meeting in Berlin German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande has said that they didn't rule out the discussion of anti-Russian sanctions at the EU summit because of its actions in Syria.

The human rights organization "Amnesty International" confirmed: Syrian army supported by Russian fighters continued to strike the city of Aleppo, despite calls by the international community to stop the killing of civilians.
