PACE calls on Russia to withdraw its troops from Ukraine – draft resolution

"The Assembly again calls on the Russian Federation to withdraw its troops from the territory of Ukraine and to stop military supplies to the separatists," the draft document reads. As for organization of local elections in Donbas, the Assembly notes that such elections should be held in accordance with the Ukrainian legislation and international standards of freedom and justice, for what it is necessary to ensure reliable security environment after troops and weapons are withdrawn. The resolution also reiterates its condemnation of the illegal annexation of the peninsula in violation of the international law and the Charter of the Council of Europe.
