Militants launch 52 attacks on Ukrainian troops in east Ukraine in past day

"The situation in the ATO area remains tense but controlled. The enemy intensified its activities along the entire demarcation line in last day in flagrant violation of the Minsk agreements. Russian-backed militants launched 52 attacks on Ukrainian positions," the report reads. In Mariupol direction, the enemy used heavy machine guns to fire at Marinka (35 km south-west of Donetsk). Ukrainian servicemen in Krasnohorivka (29 km west of Donetsk), Slavne (25km south-west of Donetsk), and Shyrokyne (20km east of Mariupol) came under mortar fire. In Donetsk direction, the tensest situation was observed in Avdiyivka (18km north of Donetsk), Zaitseve (67km north-north-east of Donetsk), Mayorske (45km north of Donetsk), and Luhanske (59km north-east of Donetsk), where the enemy fired at Ukrainian strongholds, using 120mm and 82mm mortars, grenade launchers and heavy machine guns. In Luhansk area, the enemy used different types of grenade launchers to shell Ukrainian positions in Stanytsia Luhanska (16km north-east of Luhansk) and Popasna (90 km north-west of Luhansk).
