MEPs say that future of association should not be decided by 20% of the Dutch

"The Association Agreement has been ratified by 27 EU member states, the European Parliament and the [parliament of Ukraine] and approved by the two chambers of the Dutch Parliament and Government. We believe that the EU together with all 28 member states should decide [on the fate of the agreement], but not 20% of voters of one of the member states, which represents 0.6% of the whole EU population, at an advisory referendum," the parliamentarians noted. They also called on the Dutch government to report about its position as soon as possible so that the European Commission can submit its proposals.
