Ukraine actively working to lower dependence on nuclear fuel supplies from Russia - energy minister

"We are actively working in the nuclear industry segment and are lowering our dependence on nuclear fuel supplies. As I see it, this is the last area in which Ukraine still significantly depends on Russia. I am sure, however, that this issue can be resolved within the next two or three years," Demchyshyn said. There are four active nuclear power plants in Ukraine with 15 reactors. Nuclear energy reaches up to half of the country’s electricity production.
