Lefties to set forth single presidential candidate
31-07-2009 12:58 Lefties to set forth single presidential candidate
Petro Symonenko, head of the Communist Party faction at the Verkhovna Rada (Parliament) of Ukraine, expressed confidence that left-wing political forces would put forward a single presidential candidate.

"We are running for the presidency with plans to unite leftist forces.  There will be unification for sure, and a single candidate from left-wing forces.  I am sure about that," he stated. On top Symonenko noted that not everything is all right in the talks on the nomination of a single candidate. This week Socialist Party leader Oleksandr Moroz predicted that, in case the SPU and CPU nominate a single candidate at the presidential elections, he will win the support of minimum 15% of the voters.
