The Ukrzaliznytsia national railway company is planning to buy from Korea's Hyundai corporation soon two-system mainline electric trains capable of running both on direct and alternating current, LIGABusinessInform reported.
The renovation program provides for the purchase of 17 high-speed interregional trains with a two-way feed system. The first move will be purchase of six electric trains. Following the results of the 1st quarter, Ukrzaliznytsia decided to revise the project for introduction of high-speed traffic in this country. Under the new concept, trains' speed will be maximum 160 kmph, rather than over 200 kmph as planned before.
