10-07-2009 17:04 Zero tariffs forbidden to mobile communication operators
The National Communications Regulation Commission has forbidden setting zero tariffs on the services of mobile communication operators and using this information as advertisement.
“There are no and cannot be any zero tariffs,” commission member Liudmyla Artiushenko said adding the telecommunications law reads the tariffs cannot be lower than self-cost, which is visible dumping. The analysis of the tariffs was made at the request of KyivStar. The ommission members and analysts say zero tariffs are most actively used by MTS and Astelit. In their turn, Astelit and MTS Ukraine call the activities of the communications commission as unlawful.
