10-07-2009 16:21 Ukraine, Poland's governments confirm intention to host UEFA EURO 2012 in 4x4 format
The heads of government of Ukraine and Poland consider it necessary to keep the format of UEFA EURO 2012 with four co-hosting cities in each country, Ukraine's Premier Yulia Tymoshenko and her Polish counterpart Donald Tusk have today told the 3rd meeting of the Joint Commission for UEFA EURO 2012 in Kyiv.
“We especially have to reiterate that UEFA EURO 2012 is a joint Ukraine-Poland project with four Ukrainian and four Polish cities to be co-hosting stadiums," Tusk noted. According to him, preparation for the championship amid the crisis is a hard task, but both countries are coping with it 'rather well'. Premier Yulia Tymoshenko has also said that the format must be kept. “We have gathered today to coordinate our efforts and clearly state that Poland and Ukraine host the championship in the 4x4 format,” she underscored. Tymoshenko noted that the Ukrainian party is optimistic about UEFA EURO 2012 preparations.
