10-07-2009 12:54 Dnipropetrovsk hosts scientific seminar on project development in line with Kyoto Protocol
All-Ukrainian scientific workshop on the development of regional projects on mitigating effects of an anthropogenic impact on the climate changes and their implementation in line with the Kyoto Protocol was held in Dnipropetrovsk (East Ukraine).
According to Petro Dekalchuk, the Deputy Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, the implementation of projects in line with the mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol is first of all a care of the nation health, human health. Secondly, this is reduction of the use of energy sources, as production modernization helps enter new markets, develop newest technologies, and attract foreign investments. For his part, Mykola Sasiuk, the Deputy Head of the National Agency for Environmental Investments, said that the possibilities of greenhouse gas emissions trading bring Ukraine, first of all, the funds that go to the state budget to be further spent for the projects that will lead to reducing greenhouse gas emissions or easing an anthropogenic impact on the environment.
