This was emphasized by President Viktor Yushchenko speaking at a joint session of an Assembly of Donors of the Chornobyl Shelter Fund and Nuclear Safety Account.
The Head of State said he hails the decision of the EBRD to participate in these programs not only as its administrator but as its donor too. Ukraine, like no other country is interested in financing programs of the Chornobyl NPP objects' conservation, Viktor Yushchenko noted. According to the Head of State, Ukraine annually earmarks UAH 1 billion from the state budget for the disaster recovery, which is more than health care spending.
