02-07-2009 17:09 EBRD to allocate loan to Lviv
Lviv authorities will modernize its electric transport network with the help of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), information from the Lviv City Council (West Ukraine).
On June 30, 2009 the EBRD Board of Directors approved allocation of a EUR 38-million loan to Lviv, EBRD leading advisor Anton Usov said. Under the conditions proposed by the bank, the loan has two directions. Firstly, EUR 26 million will go for the reconstruction of tracks and separate tramway routes, as well as traffic and service media control. The rest (EUR 12mn) will be channeled for funding electric transport infrastructure and substations, modernizing tram depots and purchasing the rolling stock.
