02-07-2009 15:30 NBU again sells about USD 2.5 million in unlimited auction
The National Bank of Ukraine on July 1, 2009 conducted a regular special currency auction to meet the demands of individual borrowers and sell USD 2.557 million at a reduced rate of 7.6405 UAH/USD to 25 banks, the NBU reported.
On Wednesday, the National Bank decided to hold interventions on the interbank currency market without any volume restrictions at the rates of 7.61 UAH/USD (buy) and 7.65 UAH/USD (sale). Previously, the central bank as a rule was selling currency on interbank against external commitments of credit and finance institutions.
