Open joint stock company Deutsche Bank Ukraine was registered on June 25. In March, Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft declared the intention to set up a subsidiary credit and finance establishment in Ukraine. By early June, Ukraine had 52 banks with foreign capital, including 17 banks with 100-percent foreign capital.  The share of foreign capital in the aggregate statutory capital of banks by the end of May was 36.9%. On the whole, the NBU says, by June 1 a total of 184 banks were functioning in this country, with 199 registered.
