24-06-2009 14:37 Cabinet asking parliament to boost spending for international lawsuits to USD 4.3mn
The Cabinet of Ministers is calling on the Verkhovna Rada to increase spending for Ukraine's representation at international courts by UAH 20 million to UAH 33 million (USD 1 - UAH 7.61), Justice Minister Mykola Onishchuk told reporters.
The Cabinet approved the relevant amendments to the law on the state budget 2009. The minister explained that the number of suits against Ukraine at international courts has almost doubled in 2009. In particular, according to Onishchuk, the number of lawsuits against Ukraine at international court in 2007 and 2008 was about 11, while in 2009 there are already 21 suits.
