24-06-2009 11:13 President is skeptical about filling Cabinet vacancies before presidential elections
President Viktor Yushchenko, currently on a working visit to Kharkiv, says that the positions of Finance Minister, Foreign Minister, Defense Minister as well as Transport and Communications Minister will remain vacant until the presidential elections.
At his meeting with students, lecturers and rectors of universities, scientists of Kharkiv region, President Yushchenko noted that combating the financial and economic crisis could not be efficient with the lack of the ministers in the Cabinet and the staff in the executive power. According to the Head of State, in addition to four ministerial vacancies, the State Property Fund and the Antimonopoly Committee have long been without leadership. There is no chairman in every fourth district state administration, he underscored.
