Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko demands lifting of the moratorium in the sale of farmland. He expressed this demand in his State of the Nation Report in parliament on Tuesday.
At the end of 2007, Verkhovna Rada extended the ban on the sale of farmland until the land market regulation. The President was sure that in 2008 the Rada would lift the ban and privatization of land would be completed. Ukraine has over 60 million hectares of land.
