15-01-2009 15:06 Ukrainian Prime Minister Yuliya Tymoshenko held talk with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin
During their telephone conversation on January 14 at 12:00 p.m., an agreement was reached about holding negotiations between governments of the two countries on the gas issue in Moscow on Saturday.
The parties discussed a concept on removal of problems in the gas issue, as well as terms for start of Russian natural gas transit to the EU countries. At the same time, Yuliya Tymoshenko sent Head of the Russian Government Vladimir Putin an express telegramme in which she guaranteed that the total volume of natural gas that Russia will give to the Ukrainian gas transportation system will be delivered to the European Union countries, except for eight percent of gas which is used for work of gas pumping aggregates of the transportation system. In this telegramme, the Ukrainian Government gives the Russian Government guarantees of payment for natural gas that will be used for technical needs immediately after setting a price of Russian natural gas for Ukraine. Yuliya Tymoshenko believes that finding of a compromise is possible.
