18-12-2007 19:18 First special border crossing permits for nationals of Ukraine and Hungary living in 50-km zone of border issued
This was announced by Ukraine Foreign Ministry's spokesman Andriy Deshchytsia to a news briefing today.
Ukraine carries on talks on signing a similar agreement with Slovakia. "We expect to finalize it by the end of this year," Mr Deshchytsia said. According to him, Ukraine wants a similar agreement with Poland. This concerns a much greater number of people, some 1.2 million on both sides of the border. This makes our task more difficult but we hope to make it in the long run, the ministry's spokesman added.
