Ernst Nuser,Vice Chairman of the Transcarpathian Regional Rada, has won the race to become Mukachiv's mayor.
He defeated his main rival, people's deputy of Ukraine Viktor Baloha in the Sunday, April 18 mayor election in Mukachiv, by an over 5,000 vote margin.
Sixty eight percent of the city's voters came to the polls.
The election process was watched by international and Ukrainian observers.
