12-03-2010 15:12 Foreign-capital banks in TOP10 Bank Stability Rating 2010
The Expert Rating RA has released the Bank Stability Rating 2010 involving 79 finance institutions.
According to the rating table, the most reliable foreign-capital banks in TOP10 list are: Calyon Bank Ukraine, Citibank (Ukraine), ING Bank Ukraine, UkrSibbank, UniCredit Bank, Alfa Bank, Ukrsotsbank, VTB Bank, VAB Bank, Subsidiary Bank of Russia's Sberbank. Two largest state-run banks Oschadbank and Ukreximbank are ranked 11th and 13th respectively. Swedbank has been removed from the ranking compared with 2009. "We had to exclude (Swedbank) from the Bank Stability Rating 2010 on the grounds that as of January 1, 2010 the bank showed a negative equity capital of UAH 1.8 billion. The Swedish Swedbank is delaying in the replenishment of equity capital of its subsidiary in Ukraine, creating a dangerous precedent that may affect people's trust in banks with foreign capital," Expert Rating said in a statement.
