President Viktor Yanukovych suspended his membership in the Party of Regions. He also entrusted Mykola Azarov with duties of leader of the Party and the parliamentary faction.
The Ukrainian legislation bans the President of the State to head the political party. It is reported that an issue about a new leader of the party will be decided at the nearest congress of the Party of Regions.
