04-03-2010 16:48 State committee advises Ukrtelefilm to shoot more positive films
Ukrtelefilm needs to revise the subject-matter plan of films for 2010, because now "the plots are 90-percent tragic," Mykola Zhulynskyi, chair of the National Council for Culture and Spirituality, told a board meeting of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting.
It was also pointed out at the meeting that the home film industry is overfilled with foreign movies, while the domestic cinema products "have neither Ukrainian history, nor modernity, culture or national traditions," and their production aims only at the rush for ratings and profit from advertisement, which is unacceptable to state television according to the Acting Director General of Ukrtelefilm Viktor Petrenko.
