The Party of Regions is gathering its supporters outside the Central Election Commission building. There are up to 2,000 people in the square in front of the CEC, and more are arriving.
The people are carrying flags with the Party of Regions' symbols, and chanting "for the protection of people's choice." In its turn, the police is strengthening guard around the perimeter of the CEC building. The interior troops are joining police servicemen. Earlier the Party of Regions expressed the intention to gather up to 50,000 supporters outside the Central Election Commission building on February 8. The headquarters of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc said they would not stage any mass events before the official results of vote counting are announced. With a tally of 93.06%, Yanukovych has 48.41% and Tymoshenko 45.95% of the votes. 4.44% of the voters balloted against all.
