08-02-2010 10:25 Ukraine to mark 65th anniversary of Yalta Conference
The Autonomous Republic of Crimea will mark the 65th anniversary of the Yalta Conference of the heads of government of an anti-Hitler coalition who decided in 1945 the future development of the world and also laid the foundation for the creation of the United Nations.
According to the press service of the Crimean government, an international scientific conference entitled "The 'Yalta system' and contemporary world order: the problems of global and regional security" will open in the historical white hall of the Livadia Palace on February 17. Officials, diplomats and businessmen from Britain, the United States, Russia, Germany and other countries, as well as the heads of the European Union's delegation to Ukraine, historians, and Second World War veterans have been invited to participate in the conference.
