08-02-2010 15:06 Snap parliamentary elections of no immediate interest
Verkhovna Rada Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn believes the question about pre-term parliamentary election will be of no interest in the near future, he told the press on Monday.
"Impatience regarding early election is disappearing, with those realities we have today after the election campaign taken into account," Lytvyn said. He emphasized that it is now necessary to think about an efficient work of the supreme legislative body, so he believes it is necessary 'to view various configurations'. In his words, it is possible to consider three options of forming a parliamentary majority. The first one is the current coalition, which 'must prove its efficiency'. The second scenario is a possible coalition between the Party of Regions and BYuT, 'but it is hard to imagine with the level of confrontation taken into account'. And the third option is formation of a coalition involving the Party of Regions and OU-PSD. "There are no other options," he believes.
