04-02-2010 12:08 EIB lends EUR 115.5mln for environmental projects, SMEs in Ukraine
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has lent EUR 15.5 million to upgrade water supply and wastewater treatment in the southern city of Mykolayiv and EUR 100 million to finance small and medium enterprises (SMEs), energy efficiency and the environment in Ukraine, the bank said on Wednesday.
The loan of EUR 15.5 million will be useful to more than half a million Ukrainians providing them with higher quality of water supply and wastewater service due to the rehabilitation and modernization of the city's water facilities. The EIB has given four loans to Ukraine bringing the total lending sum to EUR 465.5 million.
