National joint stock company Naftogaz of Ukraine reduced the volumes of natural gas sale in 2009 by 9.5% compared to 2008, down to 38.249 billion cubic meters, the press service of the Fuel and Energy Ministry of Ukraine reported.
In money terms the supply of gas rose by 33.5% to USD 5.75 billion. The population cut gas consumption by 3% to 16.581 billion cubic meters. The industry used a total of 10.468 billion cubic meters of gas, compared to 13.752 billion cubic meters in 2008 (fall by 23.9%).
