At the meeting, Viktor Yushchenko thanked the WHO for prompt response to Ukraine's appeal to deploy a WHO mission in order to assess the epidemiological situation in Ukraine.The Ukrainian President, referring to the latest data, describd the flu morbidity trend as positive.
At the same time, he pointed to inaccessibility of lab tests for the majority of Ukrainian regions. For his part, the Head of the WHO Country Office, Jukka Pukkila, underlined that Ukraine's experience of combating the H1N1 flu epidemic will be useful for other countries and 'help improve other countries' response to this influenza'.
