The Cabinet of Ministers has established an interdepartmental commission to monitor the process of raising the minimum wage to 3,200 hryvnias, or 120 US dollars from January 1, 2017. Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko said this during a video-conference on the increase in minimum wages in 2017.

President signs 2017 budget raising defence spending

President Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on the 2017 state budget that envisages 3 percent deficit of national GDP and a raise in defence expenditures to 5.2 percent of GDP. This is up from 2016’s 5 percent of GDP spent on defence. A respective law was signed late on Monday by President Petro Poroshenko.
