The renewable energy market in Ukraine will reach 16 billion euros till 2020, but investors need guarantees so that they can invest money, Chairman of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving Serhiy Savchuk said at a press conference on Friday.
Lithuanian investors are interested in Ukraine’s projects on wind and solar energy, as well as projects on heat and electricity generation from local fuels. Head of Ukraine’s State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving, Serhiy Savchuk reported this following a meeting with Plenipotentiary Representative of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine Gvidas Kerushauskas and representatives of a range of Lithuanian companies operating in the field of renewable energy.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has given the order to apply for Ukraine to join the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), the Presidential website reported citing a respective decree of the Head of State.
