Nobody could even think Russia would dare to send Buk-type missile to Donbas Klimkin

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin said this commenting on accusations addressed to Ukraine because of its failure to shut the air space over its territory when the conflict in Donbas unfolded. The minister said: "At that point we didn't realize such a threat existed, and that Russia could send to Donbas such a high-accuracy system that could shoot down an aircraft. We expected that simple weaponry that came from Russia to Donbas would be there, but not such missile systems as Buk, which definitely was there as the report confirmed." Besides, Klimkin added that as far as he knows Russian aircraft still fly very close to the territory of Donbas. As we have reported, an international expert team investigating the cause of the Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 crash in eastern Ukraine has concluded that the plane shot down by a Russian-made Buk surface-to-air missile system. This conclusion followed from the final report of the Dutch Security Board which was released on Tuesday. All 298 people onboard were killed when MH17 was shot down over eastern Ukraine in the territory controlled by militants on July 17 last year.
