On New Year's night Kyiv's funicular set a new record for the number of passengers carried.
This is reported by the press service of Kyivpastrans.
"On the night of December 31 to January 1, Kyiv funicular has transported by 2142 passengers more than last year - 37 102 passengers," the statement said.
On New Year's night for Kievans and guests of the capital the subway and land transport worked for 3 hours longer. The funicular worked around the clock.
Recall that in 2018 a large-scale reconstruction of the funicular is planned, which provides for repair of the upper and lower stations, engine room, rails and replacement of the cars themselves by more modern ones.
