Judge Alla Lesco: "Creation of Anti-corruption Court is foreseen by Constitution"
The draft law on the creation of the Anticorruption Court commented in the program "Today. Morning" of the Ukrainian radio by a member of the Supreme Council of Justice, a member of the Supreme Court of Ukraine, Alla Lesko:
"The main requirement that this bill must contain is the right to try a case by an independent and impartial tribunal, which is an inalienable right of a person. One of the criteria for the compliance of the court with independence and impartiality is an independent procedure for the selection of judges. A court formed by an unclear procedure that did not meet all these criteria, would not be taken as norm. Therefore, such a broad discussion of the procedure for selecting judges for a higher anticorruption court is legitimate."
