In Ukraine, from the beginning of the year, 3184 people were killed as result of road traffic accidents, about 30 thousand people were injured.
This was announced by Vyacheslav Abroskin, First Deputy Head of the National Police.
"Only over the last 24 hours 19 people were killed as a result of accidents. One of such traffic accidents occurred last night in the Chernihiv region when ,crossing the road, the mother was killed , who was born in 1989, and her two daughters. One girl was only seven years old, while the other was nine month baby ", wrote Abroshkin in Facebook.
Recently, the Ukrainian government has supported the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs to punish road users more rigorously, whose actions led to road accidents. Among other things, officials are proposing to increase the amount of fines, expand the range of traffic accidents, which can deprive of driver's rights, limit traffic speed to 50 kilometers per hour in populated areas. The initiative of the government should be supported by the Verkhovna Rada so that it can take action.
