Verkhovna Rada Chairman Andriy Parubiy has extended for a year the validity of the law on a special procedure of local self-government in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions (ORDLO), which was to expire on October 18, 2017, according to the document's status on the parliament website.

However, according to the Verkhovna Rada regulations, the speaker cannot sign the bill until parliament considers initiatives on its abolition.

According to the information on the website of the Verkhovna Rada, after the approval of bill No. 7164, groups of lawmakers registered two draft resolutions on the abolition of the voting results. However, without putting them up for consideration, the speaker signed the bill.
